Thanks SOPA

January 11th, 2012

It took way longer than the week we thought it would, but the site is back up and running.

As you might have guessed, this week's comic is about SOPA and their dastardly ways. I know there are many differing opinions as to who is right or wrong, but honestly if SOPA passes it pretty much cancels out the right to express opinions on the matter. No one group or government should be able to control what people can access online.

Of course, large companies and the government support SOPA. They can make a shit ton of money off of this… legally. Internet users are not happy with this development and I have yet to hear of any independent users that support SOPA. I don't think anyone actually thought that SOPA would come this close to becoming real.

After reading the names of the people that support SOPA, I can't help but wonder… why them? Do Revlon or L'Oréal really have that much to lose if the internet continues to be open and uncensored? I'm sure myself, and many others, will continue to remember the names of the companies that supported SOPA, even after it fails to be passed.
