Whether you own an Apple product or not, you're living in an Apple world. Almost every piece of tech you use or have around you has been directly or indirectly influenced and/or revolutionized by Apple. Apple and Steve Jobs. His undeniable influence on the tech world is such a revolutionary one that it's pretty much unthinkable to imagine how it would have been without him.
Steve Jobs leaves behind a legacy that's hard, if not entirely impossible, to match.
He helped invent the PC with the Apple computer, he made beautiful design in tech important with the iMac, he made listening to music fun and intuitive with the iPod, he built the largest music store in the world with iTunes, he made it fun and exciting to use a smartphone (it's not just for talk, text, and email anymore) with the iPhone, he created a brand new and lucrative market with the App Store, and he brought forth and popularized a new type of device for the casual media consumer with the iPad.
Oh and of course, he helped create Pixar!
If you know me, you know I can go on and on and on about Apple and Steve Jobs, but I think this is enough for now. His legacy says more than I ever can. I think for me, I just feel lucky to have lived at the same time as this progressive and revolutionary technology leader. I truly believe that decades and centuries from now, his name and story will be taught to everyone studying technology and new media. And because of that…
…I'm glad to have learned about him, and from him, at the same time both of us have been on this Earth.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs.
