Weather the Storm

Before the relationship between Boy and Girl began, a warning was given that should have been taken more seriously. The warning was not life threatening, it did not seem like it would change anything really. It was the statement “Before we start a relationship, you have to know that I really, really like video games.” Of course I laughed, because there are not a lot of people who don’t enjoy them, but after a little bit I began to realize…he was not exaggerating. There have been nights of watching video games being played, missed phone calls, half heard conversations, and missed events all leading back to that one sentence.

Personally, I enjoy video games…not to the point where I need to give a warning to those around me, but enough to feel that although they can interfere with a relationship, I will not break them out of spite. However, a line should be drawn when it comes to those missed phone calls, especially if it involves rain and a lack of umbrella.
