Importance

I think it is safe to say we have all questioned what the hell is going on in our significant other’s head, especially when they start to get that vacant yet pretending to listen look. We always end up wondering if the people we are in relationships with, are on the same page, in the same book, or at the very least in something written by the same author. The general curiosity surrounding their thoughts gets the best of us, and we end up making the casual attempt to ask “what are you thinking about right now?” I don’t think that anyone who asks that question can reasonably expect an honest answer, particularly if you are envisioning yourself playing a bongo.

The best part about moments like this, is you can see how fast people can actually come up with topics to think about, usually ranging from nothing (the non-creative), to an ex (the idiot), or just how happy they are to be with you (the sweet liar). Of course anyone would rather hear from the sweet liar than the idiot, but maybe they are the only ones to speak with sincerity… a quality which is neglected in so many relationships.

I suppose in this case, some things are better left unsaid. The contents of a daydream, cannot possibly convey the same meaning to another person. Each thought will forever be uniquely yours. Bongos and all.
