Importance Part 2

No matter how much women complain about receiving attention, men often refuse to donate that extra bit of thought which results in an action… beyond the obvious. I suppose when those little things never get planned or accomplished you really have to debate if it’s worth it in the end. I mean really, if he can’t remember anniversaries, little things to make you smile, or even plan a day together, do you honestly believe that there can be a future together? I know it sounds harsh and we all have to have a little faith (otherwise we will all end up the lady with all the cats), but when it comes to being thoughtful, if you can do it, why can’t he?

If we want to get completely stereotypical and sadly right, the movie He’s Just Not That Into You, gives perfect examples of how to know what he is thinking. If he isn’t calling you, texting, or emailing you… even after you ask, it is obviously not worth your time or effort. If he can find time for friends, video games or TV, he can find time for you…but only if he is willing. That is the catch. We were all fed the same lines in our youth through movies, novels, and parents, about how we will just know when the right one comes along or that love is all you need, but when you get out into the world you realize that you need so much more than stolen kisses and blind faith. No one was told about the catch or complexity of relationships. Once the veil is lifted, you miss the simplicity of skinned knees and band-aids.

However, all hope is not lost. On occasion, while you wonder what he is thinking, he is just completely content by being with you. Sometimes you just need to listen to the silence between the words. After all, you may just be the exception.
